I have heard dozens of very slightly different versions from people I know.

I read somewhere (I think it was Reader's Digest) that one of the common features of self-made tycoons is that they never carry and use credit cards. I am not a tycoon, but reasonably well off, and I am glad to say I have been able to resist the temptation till date. I am 45 now, and I pray I'll never need a credit card in the time that is left to me.Suvro Chatterjeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01027202980259279420noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29606715.post-13605681487711314162008-11-07T09:13:00.000-08:002008-11-07T09:13:00.000-08:00I was a little disappointed to find that your last...I was a little disappointed to find that your last posting was in August. It contained a bill from ICICI Credit Cards advising me of dues of Rs.1300+ as 1st EMI on a Insurnace policy from Lombard which is purported to have been purchased by me.Here let me state :
1. I do not have a valid ICICI Bank Credit Card. I used to have one while I was working in India 4 years back and had never renewed it, nor have I received any communication on this all these years.
2. This policy is said to have been purchased by me last month.
3. I took up the matter with ICICI bank and have been advised by them to find out from Lombard on the the policy and get them to write to ICICI bank for reversing the debit.
4. the point here is they have raised a debit on a ghost credit card and sent the bill to my previous employers office (addressed to me)relating to some insuranc policy which I never purchased in the first place and have no knowledge of.
5. Now I am required to trace these transactions and advise ICICI Credit Card.
6. I wrote back saying that I have no intention of doing anything of that sort. Any more bills adressed to me in whatever address they chose, and I will take up the matter with with all /or any of the redressal forums/ bodies available. avaialblealivenowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08868440762405693461noreply@blogger.com
